• We see Veronica writing in her diary and the voice over says "It's God versus my boyfriend, and God's losing".
• When Veronica is looking into the knife at Heather Duke's, she instead says "Prepare to die", the same way she says it to Betty Finn when playing croquet.

In the book Pretty in Pink: The Golden Age of Teenage Movies by Jonathan Bernstein, the author discusses other alternate endings that were considered for Heathers:

1) Veronica blows up the school.
2) An almost-but-not-quite-dead Heather Duke shoots Veronica.
3) Students of all social cliques are united in a mixer in heaven.
